5/28/2025 – AgeLinc Highlights Older Americans Act with ‘Don’t Blow Out the Candles’ Event
The Illinois Association of Area Agencies on Aging is calling for a day of action on May 28th to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the passage of the Older Americans Act – with a call to Congress saying “DON’T BLOW OUT THE CANDLES ON THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT.” We are calling all legislators, lawmakers, older adults, and caregivers to join us at events across the state to highlight the importance of these critical services that impact hundreds of thousands of older adults across Illinois..
Agencies host rallies to urge lawmakers to secure funding for Older Americans Act
8/2/2024 – A new effort aims to help people working with older Illinoisans better understand LGBTQ+ seniors.
Known as OUTSafe, the competency training uses state funds to spread a violence prevention program to groups including providers, caregivers and law enforcement officials.
Springfield-based AgeLinc is leading the collaborative effort to develop the training. It’s open to groups across Illinois that work with seniors.
